About This Project

We also use optical scanning to create 3D models of anatomy for simulation and training applications. Models derived from scans can be utilized in virtual, augmented and physical simulations for training, education and assessment applications. PD3D owns an Artec Eva 3D Scanner that captures points and visual images to recreate a three-dimensional image, using the accompanying software automatically combines the scans and create a single mesh. It has a measuring speed of up to 1.5 million points per second while also providing high resolution (up to 0.2mm) and high accuracy (up to 0.02mm). The Artec Scanner captures up to 16 frames per second of imagery, which are aligned automatically in real-time. It is ideal for creation of special effects, medical and biomechanical research.
